This isn’t a class where you sit and watch me groom your dog.
You’ll do the grooming yourself!
I’ll be right there to demonstrate techniques, answer questions, correct your technique, and help you learn how to safely and confidently groom your own dog.
Because you’re learning on your own dog, we can focus on their specific coat, haircut, problem areas, and the look you want to maintain at home.
What Does A Lesson Look Like
Bring Your Own Grooming Equipment and your dog.
Part of your lesson is learning which tools actually work best for your dog. I can look at what you already own and recommend anything that could make grooming easier or give you better results. Don't worry about it to much, I will always have suggestions that will make it easier.
First thing you will do is bathe your dog using our tub and shampoo system, I will give you tips to make it more efficient at home though.
Then, you will dry your dog using our Dryers and tables. I will also talk to you about what you're using at home and how you could improve it and be cost effective.
After your dog is dry, you will bring them to our grooming table and use your tools to groom him/her. I will show you the direction you're supposed to go and how to get around the danger zones. I also have super easy patterns to follow that will get you a cute haircut, no matter what.
We will go over:
Proper bathing and coat preparation
Drying techniques
Brushing and preventing tangles
Clipper techniques
Scissoring and shaping
Face, feet and sanitary areas
Creating the haircut you want
Maintaining your dog between grooms
Making grooming easier and more efficient
Choosing the right tools and products for your dog
This is a supportive place to learn and ask questions and there is no grooming experience needed.
This class is designed for everyday dog owners who want to learn how to care for and groom their own dog.
